Another Check Engine Light Question
Prior to posting this, I searched the forum and did not find an answer.
2003 RK Classic.
After starting the bike, the check engine light will illuminate for a few seconds and then go off.
I went through the following procedure defined here https://www.hdforums.com/m_64805/tm.htm
When I get to step 2c, (Ignition on with terminals 1&2 shorted):
After 10 seconds the check engine will come on solid for about 4 seconds, and then go off, never flashing any codes.

do you let the electronics go through a complete test before starting the bike.
I.E. let the fuel pump pressure up and wait for the check engine light to go out.
If not then the ECM is till performing a test of ont the components.
Called a POST (power on self test).
After that is could e a sensor that just isn't responding quite right at first
but is fine a few seconds later.
A ckp could be a little worn, or tempsensor may have alittle oxidation under it.
Map sensor off a little, or the hot air sensor in the intake maybe flucuating a little
bit during warmup (mine does this frequently starting in cooler weather).
also if it really cold out, the manifold airtemp sensor may get a burst of cold air
setting it off causing light to come on.
I would start for peace of mind. Disconnect battery, unplug ECM clean connector
add a dab of dielectric grease and re connect. do same with all the sensor plugs.
Same with battery positive at starter and battery ground at frame.
some gremlins just won't go away.
