I had 10,000 miles on my '05 RK when the seals went out on the front head only. I have only done the front valve seals. I was using about a half qt. in 600 miles, never saw smoke though. I did start to notice a ping when hot, indy who did the work said that there was buildup on head and piston. At idle I could start to hear a miss out of the pipes also. After pulling and cleaning inside of head and top of piston no more ping!
The pics are of 2 different front head spark plugs before and after. The plug on the left is after the valve seals were changed with 300 miles on it, and the right plug is before the valve seals were changed with 300 miles on it. The rear plug has always looked like the one on the left.
I don't use any oil now!
Mine was burning oil in the rear cylinder a lot, and to a lesser extent, the front. Put in Big Boyz seals a week ago and no burn detectable on the dip stick yet!
