Use a hair dryer to warm up and loosen the tape then they should come off rather easily. You will still have adhesive to remove. I have 3M adhesive remover that does a good jog getting the left over tape off.
The hairdryer heat-up is a good start. After that, get some dental floss and run it between the emblem and tank...it should peel right off. Any residue will come off with goo gone, etc.
The shooting star emblem...be sure to put it on straight -Level with the bottom of the tank, not angled with the top of the tank. A few pieces of masking tape will help. If you movethe emblemaround on the tank, there's really only one spot where all of the star points will be an equal distance off of the tank. That's where you want it!
