I think the SG is an awesome looking bike with cool written all over it. While I chose my Ultra over the SG because of comfort (function over form), there's no denying that the SG is one hell of a cool bike. As for being "thrifty" (good job on the "political correctness"!), a few engine mods, pipes and accessories should take care of that! Get that wallet out and head for the parts department!

I have a customer who built a "Street Glide" (from a FLHT "Standard") long before the MOCO did it.
Essentially, the FLHX is just a de-contented FLHTC. Typical MOCO marketing exercise. Keeps the sharholders happy!

And to think of all the money your customer let slip away by not marketing the IDEA!!! Before I purchased a SG, I looked at the Standard and started adding up the differences, approx. 3-4K worth and that's being conservative, then factor in Resale and needless to say went with the SG. You buy a Standard, you pay a Standard price, you sell a Standard, guess what?? You get a Standard price.
