I have been looking at newer baggers for a few weeks. Been regularly checking the Craig's list, Cycle Trader, and this forum's classifieds. I found this one today. It is a 2005 FLTC with 42k miles. The only upgrades appear to be a rerouted exhaust, luggage rack, & fairing pouches. Aside from that, it is a VERY clean, scratch-free Electra Glide Classic with the usual bells and whistles. The seller is the original owner with aregular maintenance history. He is asking$13k, which seems to be pretty fair, not a steal, but a good price for a good bike. So the question is; is it time to stop looking and ride?
Nice bike the miles seem a little high, it's pretty stockbut it looks like he at least rode it to have those miles. I don't now, here's a bump and see what else someone else thinks. What www.kbb.com kelly blue book on it?
Kelly Blue Book is a joke for setting USED PRICING or value of a motorcycle... Look over at CycleTrader (or other sales outlets) and see what everyone is asking for the same putt... Just remeber they are posting asking price which you ca normally take 10% off to get sales priice...
The Bigest Question is... DO YOU LIKE IT and DOES IT FIX INTO YOUR BUDGET? - Then Go For It!!
If you are like me you are impulsive and will buy it reguardless of what we tell you....When I want somepun I just go buy it and throw caution to the wind....LMAO
There are a lot of great deals out there if you look this one seems a little high on the milage and I have a bud that got an 06 Classic for 13,000 with 14,000 on the clock
FWIW - I bought my 05 FLHTCI in October from a dealer for 13,500. It had 12k miles, duel headers, a lowering kit front and rear, pull back handlebars, and a bunch of chrome extras that the previous owner had put on it. I was at the dealer yesterday and they had a 05 EG Standard with 29.8k on the odometer for $12,800. To me the price seems a bit high for the miles.
I have been checking prices for awhile. 13K is actually about the starting price on any online shopping site. The local (San Diego) dealers are considerably more. KBB Retail put it at 14.9 and NADA put it at17. Not willing to buy a bike sight unseen, so ebay or something like that doesn't work for me. But if 13k is too much, maybe I'll just keep shopping. Just hope it doesn't take until winter to find a better deal. Not usually an impulse buyer, but I am itching to ride now more than later.

You guys were right on! I had spent a lot of time looking at online postings and not enough time with the local dealers. Just picked up a 2007 FLHTC w <20K miles for $14,200. Two years newer, half the miles, bigger engine, and always maintained by the dealer I got it from, for an additional 1200 bucks! This was a no brainer. It is pure stock, except for additional luggage racks and some chrome. But the upside there is that now I decide what upgrades to do. So what do you guys think?
