I put my 07 RKC on HD trader a few months ago just for sh-ts and giggles. price 17k miles 8550. I got a call from a guy. apparently he is looking to ship the bike overseas. the deal needs to be done quickly. anyway, i was looking for opinions. but, as i write this and speak with my wife, because the bike was an aniversary present i'm going to keep it. we'll get new ones for our 30th.
if anyone is interested in selling quickly. i don't know what price this guy will go to but i think he has more $ to offer. his number 917-584-6381, NY metro area.
I'd be very cautious of anyone outright saying that they want to ship over seas. Scam's abound, this is one of the tell-tail signs of a scam. Not that it may be legit. How-ever comma!
If someone was really interested they would arrange a meeting or send you the money. What ever they do with it after the sale is on them and none of anyones business.
I would be very wary of this "deal". It has to be done quickly and shipped overseas and he is willing to pay 17K for a used '07 possibly more? I think it stinks.
Sounds like the start of a scam to me,but then I'm just a suspicious so&so. Bank draft gets sent, clears, bike goes, bank draft found to be counterfeit, cancelled, no bike, no money left in account.
...I'll just this...I own some apt's, and anytime I get a vacancy, and I throw an ad up on Craig's list...the first 5-10 replies are scammers from outside the country....it's always the same basic scam..they want to send you money through an associate, to grab the apt right away, the scam is that they will wind up sending you a check for much more than you request, then they ask you to cash it, take what you need, and send em back the diff. Like someone else said, then your bank finds out the check is bogus a few days later, and you're on the hook for it!...I would stay away from any deals involving an "over-seas" component, and the fact that you are being asked to rush raises more red-flags....[sm=badidea.gif]
again, let me just say i decided not to do it, but I have sold cars and etc to people who send them overseas and always the expoter pays top dollar. in this case the guy was going to see it today with cash in hand. he would take possesion and i would get title and mail it out. cash always king. and i never meet at my home.
PASS THAT DEAL... There are a bunch of low-life that do this every day...
Been approached in the past by a few of them offering to pay by Cashiers check or Money Orders... And they will even send a person to take care of the shipping...
Seen to many folks BURNED BIG TIME....
