READ YOUR MANUAL NOW. really you should know your motorcycle a little better than thatand to do that you must ride and read.

Good luck and ride safe

Scoot,
Don't feel bad. It took me several days before I realized the "air" gauge on the dash was not indicating pressure for the rear shocks.
Now that's just a [sm=funnypostabove.gif]

I have to agree with ripper....

To all;

I just wanted to bring everyone up to speed on the "Trip reset button" issue. You will all be happy to know I pushed the button and found I have an "A" and a "B" trip odometer as well as my total mileage odometer (which did not clear itself). Wow! Three modes of operation; who knew?(apparently most of you folks)

This has openened up entirely new avenues of study for me, e.g., I can find out exactly how far it is to my favorite watering hole and at the same time determine what kind of mileage I'm getting on a tank of gas. This is astounding!

Thanks to all of you for helping me get over my fear of "pushing the button". I was thinking of starting "Button Pushers Anonymous", however, based upon the responses I received on HDF I'd be the only person attending.

You should all give yourselves a pat on the back for helping a brother Scooter-Tramp overcome his unnatural fear of pushing the button.
Glad you figured that out Scooter - now just move on to other common things, like changing the air in your tires.

You guys (gals too, I suppose)are great! Hey listen, ifyou can't laugh at yourself what's the point of living?

The really funny thingis while I'm no "Uber Wrench" (I guess y'all figured that out) I do manage to perform my own maintenance and yes, I've donemost of the installs/repairs/upgrades (with lots of help from my bro's)on all my bikes including '04 FLRCI, my '93 FLHTP (Evo),and two Shovelheads ('69 & '73). I'veremoved/replaced the front rubber mounts, changedfork oil, re-packed wheel and neck bearings, removed and remounted front and rearwheels (although, I don't bust tires anymore...I let myIndy shop do that), you know, the normal stuff.

In November I plan on doing a 95" upgrade with Cams, rolling rockers, upgraded clutch, new wheels, and getting the Tins painted. I want to jazz up the old RK. I'll do most of the mechanical work myself (with help from the HDForum folks I hope). I'm going to try the dry ice and oven trick to install the new bearings and cams, that's pretty slick.

I can only attribute my fear of button pushing to some childhood trauma I've repressed over the years. It explains why the women I've dated keep pushing my hands to that certain area on their bodies over and over again. This irrational fear of pushing buttons probably cost me my first marriage...poor girl. I'll keep y'all updatedwith how my regression therapy is going and if the Shrink thinks I can be cured. Although, I think HDForum has given me the breakthrough I've needed...I'm on the road to recovery!

Hey scooter,
Be sure to skip over the part in the owners manual aboutresetting the security code using the left and right turn signals. You might really get gun shy about pushing buttons! lol
Be safe,
Willie

Thats funny, I was pulling up to a light a few weeks back, saw some guy on a sporty, he pulled up to the light, stopped, and fell over. I got out of my truck, ran over to him to make sure he was ok. He told me he forgot to put his feet down......I would have never told a soul that one, I am a much better liar than that...lmao
