OK, picked up a quick detach backrest and pad for my 2006 Street Glide. This comes with 2 supoprt bars or something. Looks like these are to be mounted betwen the front and rear quick detach points, one per side.
What gives? I already installed the mounting points, now it looks like I have to remove them to add these support bars. What gives? can I just leave these off anf slip the back rest on?
the frontend of the brace goes between the front grommet and the chrome fender bracket.
the other goes behind the black rear backrest mounting point (came in the docking hardware)on the inside of the chrome fender bracket.
would put them on for sure (don't know why but they must have a purpose)
