Hey guys,I bought a used 07 road king.It has 3000 miles on it.My question is can you tell by looking if a IDS has been installed by previous owner.I just want to make sure it does not have one beforeI order one.I do not know the PO,I bought it from a used bike dealer.
Thanks
Terry
I'm one of those guys that had the block solid ugly thing chromed.... Maybe the last guy did too. I'd go to the dealer. I wonder if HD ran a vin # if it would show?
Screw the dealer, they will think you are stupid if you haul it in there to ask......When I bought my RKC 6 months ago, they didn't know what it was....I had to insist they call and ask, then install it....They called back and acted shocked I knew what I was talking about.
Look from right side thru wheel......if you see a cast alum pie pan that fits inside backside of belt pully, then you got IDS.
Look at theIDS pully from left side- ifhas slots cut in the outer diameter out near the polished edge, but is solid near the center, then you got IDS.
If you still can't tell, then reach in behind pully and feel for it.....
If you ain't got IDS, I suggest you try a bike that does have it.
When you get more experience with girls, you will discover some are better than others....The worst I ever had was so good she brought tears to my eyes, but a few were actually better.
I have 07 EGC, and and have a keen sense of hearing. 8,000 miles and virtually no difference in 5th and no IDS. TMART, can you hear the 5th gear making noise? If not, why the IDS?
