I have both HD and the RJS. I my opinion the HD shields work better.
However on the HD shields, you need to replace thehex headscrews with same size standard bolts so you can get ashallow 1/4" drive swivelsocket intothe cramped area to be able to tightenthe bolts. Most have a hard time getting a hex wrench into the area. It's easier if you use standard bolts and a swivel socket.
I have the Jr's and I just slipped them on and they stayed.I tried the velcro didn't work . I pull them out if I'm detailing the bike, to get to the top of the engine. I was skeptical at first, but I havent ridden with them off since I installed them 1 1/2 years ago. Yes I have an adjustable backrest I don't adjust.
I installed them on my 01 ultra, and I don't remember having any trouble. Of course being an older bike there were different instructions, they wentrelatively painlessly.. sometimes older is better? LOL
Kuryakyn Saddle Shields will work on the '07 models. They are a pain to install, but they do help with the heat issues.
Do you have the adjustable riders backrest?
Ya know I was just thinking.
The HD heat shield is more stable than any others Ive seen.
(And SOOOOO much easier to install)
I was thinking that the HD adjustable backrest mount might be able to be installed on the left side heat
shield. A little dressing out with a dremmel...
It could happen.
