I will be putting a $1000. on the bike of my choice this weekend. 2008 Crimson Red Streetglide with ABS. I will be taking delivery in June, so this will guarantee that the color bike with ABS will be here in time. If any of you have been through this process before, let's here of your experience.
Harley dealers are allocated certain numbers of units and certain number of models. I also had to order. The wait is the hardest part. I wanted a crimson red sunglo Street Glide with cast wheels, cruise and ABS. My dealer didn't have one, and his next scheduled Street Glide was a different color, had spoke wheels, no ABS or cruise. I placed a deposit, he changed the bike to my specs - this was on March 3. My bike is scheduled to be shipped on April 18; I hope to have it within a week after that. It's finally nice where I am and I don't have a bike. I sold mine and had my buyer didn't want me to put another 1,000 miles on it before he got it - go figure.
Place the deposit and find ways to not have the wait make you crazy - Plus, doing it this way means you get exactly what you want.
