I have a 2000 Ultra with a AM/FM/Cassette. It has a jack on the front to plug in an accessory. Will an IPOD or a Nano work with this jack and then thru the speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I made a mount for mine and mounted it using the screw at the bottom of the dash. Purchased the FM transmitter for it so it came across the radio (wireless) and plugged it in under the seat as the battery power is not sufficient for a long day of riding. Worked great as far as sound and functionality of getting to the controls, etc. while blasting down the road. A bonus is the bike beside you can pick it up too!!! BUT.... there's always a but....... with the IPod being a hard drive once in awhile it would skip or loose it's place. Then one time it locked up, wouldn't reset, shut off, nothing. Another time, locked up, and I had to completely reformat it and reload the music. So I scrapped the idea after all these issues. BUT... here we go again.... Now Apple came out with the Nano, which uses flash memory, i.e. no spinning hard drive, so this issue should be solved. I'm sure in time the Nano will get more memory. I'll be going the Nano route soon..... [8D]
