put a hitch doctor reciever on my '05 ultra. Took less than thirty minutes to install (piece o' cake). entire thing is chromed. built heavier than some hitches people put on their trucks. I wouldn't try pulling a boat with your bike though.

as for the wiring if you wanna go the easy way there is a part in j&p part #300-077 that will make it a breeze (about $42). I went to the local dealership & the service guy gave me the part #s to make my own (cost less than twelve bucks).
I would recommend you get an isolator (it will protect your bikes electronics, for instance if you don't use an isolator it is possible your turn signals will start flashing differently when the trailer isn't connected). My trailer is a bushtec so I ordered it from them along with the pigtail to hook up to the six wire flat connector on the trailer.

Could not have said it better!I have all of the above on my Street Glide. The isolator came from Electrical Connections and is a must with the computer controlled bikes made now days.
