I have an 05 Classic with S/E air cleaner, Power Commander 3, Rinhart exhaust. It seems like toward the end of last riding season it picked up more vibration than it had the rest of the summer. I didn't change anything. I could definitely feel more through the floor boards. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? I have around 4000 miles on the bike.
Thanks
I have an '05 Ultra as well -- the front motor mount went bad at about 3500 miles. The replacement motor mount is made of harder material and, while better than the busted mount, is not as smooth as the original equipment.
The defect was remedied in the '06 model due to extreme numbers of problems -- and recall.
Definitely sounds like motor mounts. Do a search on the forum. Somebody posted a tech bulletin found on Google that will give you a picture of your old mount and the replacement mount.
Thanks for the info, is there any way to tell by looking at it if it needs replacement or does it have to come out? Sounds pretty common on 05 models the way it sounds?
