They say you can actually lift up on the front of the engine and it will pull up if it's bad, thats what a mech told me.

I have a '05 Road King and the foot pegs caused a vibration that you felt in the floorboards.....what I did to isolate the problem was remove the engine guard with the foot pegs and vibration was gone...than I took off the foot pegs and re-installed the engine guard and vibration was still gone....tried a different set of foot pegs and they worked....weird thing is that the foot pegs that caused the vibration were harley pegs...go figure!!
