Ok I finally did it. I did have a couple of posts outlining that I was going to do it and i finally did. Arguably not the easiest deal to make happen. The harley dealer was still under the impression that it would be previlage to buy a bike form them. clearly with today's economic reality things have changed so it took me a while to help them understand that. At the end it was very very frustrating and I almost went and bought a wing I was treated so badly. But I needed some soul! so harley it was.
Take delivery next week of a 08 Road glide. Vivid black as I am going to paint ti over the winter.
Congrats on the new bike... It amazes me some dealers have the attitude that we are fortunate to buy from them. I went to many dealers before I made a deal with a dealer 1.5 hours from my house. Drive safe!
Scotty,
I have to agree about todays economy..... People need to realize that we are pretty much in a recession. Seems like what you went thru is the same thing I'm going thru looking for a house.... It is not a year ago... Things have changed and the entire system is hurting.
Grats on the new bike and you will enjoy it....
My local dealer has always bent over backwards to make a deal. And they are a very high volume dealership. When buying my 08 I shopped around a little and encountered that same "you should be honored that we even speak to you" attitude. So I ended up back where they make the deals and treat me alike a customer should be treated.
Enjoy your new RG. And post some pics and impressions when you get a chance.
Seems strange that the dealers still think we have to buy a bike from them! I travel 1hr. to my dealer of choice to be treated as a valued custumer and given a great deal. Congrats on the new ride!
