Since I always rode sportbikes the gas cap thing is new to me too.... I was used to flipping up the lid, dumping in the gas, flopping down the lid, and rolling out. I always grab mine off the top of the pump to use as a drip catcher when I take the gas nozzle out of the tank, then I came up with a cheap idea.... I have a Vanson jacket, and it has velcro on the waist. I got a piece of velcro, and glued it to the gas cap, and now, as soon as I open the tank, I stick it to me... then when I need it, I don't have to dance with the gas hose, just grab it off my jacket and go.... Looks dorky, but with EFI bikes, you don't wanna ride without a cap... a little bit of Inspector Gadget...
Rides this weekend.... Friday night... assorted pubs and bars in Georgetown.. and nothing but diet cokes.. lotsa fun... Saturday, Bethesda to Frederick and points in between, went out about three times... Sunday, Bethesda to Harper's Ferry West VA with the gf... Too much fun.... No traffic, and talked another SG'er who did a stage 1 on his bike and the heat issues disappeared with a Power Commander, so I think I know what I am saving up for now!
