I bought the ISO grips for my 08UC before they came out with the grips for the TBW. Used the metric grips. Cut the rubber off the right grip and reused the sleeve. Glued both sides, throttle side first. Don't fart around when shoving them on. I twisted back and forth in short strokes to keep the rubber from folding under and in 1 fluid motion butted up to switch housing. DO NOT STOP UNTIL THEY ARE WHERE YOU WANT THEM!
I managed to get them even so they look good sitting still. That's the OCD talking. I will say they are on there. If i ever want to change them the right side will come right off because it's glued to the old sleeve but the left will need a little work but nothing that a dremmel won't take care of. It was a easy change out and i really like the grip. Keep in mind it does make the grip larger. I find them extremely comfortable and happy i decided to go with these.
I learned a great trick from someone in a different forum a few years back for "gluing" down the left grip. I picked up a roll of golf grip tape (double sided tape) from the local golf shop, you wind it around the bar, remove the upper tape cover, then wipe it down with mineral spirits. The grip will slide right on, you can reposition easily until the mineral spirits evaporate, then it's stuck! But, the beauty is, when you're ready to pull that grip, get a syringe loaded with mineral spirits, squirt some under the grips and presto it will roll right off. Works slick, been doing that on all my bikes for the last few years with no problems.
Glued grips are easy to remove. Its an old dirt-biking trick to heat up the grip carefully with a HEAT GUN and then it just slides right off. This saves the grip and you don't need to use any chemicals.
This Heat Gun trick also works for removing decals etc...
As soon as the ISO grips were available I got a set. They go on easier than the grips on the 07 Models. My buddy got the Flames and I stuck them on his bike. I went and got some superglue. The glue in the KuRYakyn grips didn't come out on either set of grips.
Agree with everybody else it would be wide to do the throttle grip 1st to check and see if you like the position of the grip before you do the left hand side. The bigger grips make it much better to git rid of hand cramps.
