+1 on the lowers. I put fairing lowers on and nearly all the buffeting went away! I'm 6' by the way and sitting on the stock seat with stock windshield. They're expensive but worth it.
never have any buffeting, i'm 6', i ride with the stock windsheild, the hd tall version and sometimes the 6" shorty. i wear a beanie and when possible no helmet. the rg is the first touring bike i've owned but i've ridenall the hd touring models and if anything the rg has the least ampont of wind getting to the rider. but it is a motorcycle......
I'm 6-2 and with the clearview with vent & recurve most of the buffeting I used to get is gone unless I'm running near a lot of traffic and catching their turbulence.
Thanks for the replies some good ideas. I know there's wind on a bike I've road for awhile but I dont like my head bouncing around all over the place. It taked the fun out of the ride. If alot of the winds coming from underneath anyone ever try a Jack Flaps aerovest? ?Its supposed to direct the wind from below up over your head. Here's the link. http://jacksflaps.com/info.html
I don't understand this whole head buffeting thing! I rode for years without any type of protection, including a front fender, and when I rode my bro-in-laws Road glide last year I fell in love! 95mph and a stereo! What more could you ask for! Ride an old shovel or pan and then ride the Glide. Head buffeting?
