Does anyone know what acually is limiting the speed on the new 2008touring ultra classic? I can only get around 105 tops. I had a 2005 Road King , only 5 speed, and got to 130 before backing down andstill had more left. I know to some that 105 is fast enough, I just think with the bigger motor and 6 speed tras, it should get considerably more.
I know what you mean mine it he same way. Im over here in Germany and thats crusing speed some times I put in a 103 kit and it still will only go 110 in 5th or 6th gear. I think your right about harley limiting the speed some how. I have a Tmax on the way so hopefully that fill fix the problem.
LOL
The Ultra and most likely most or all of the HD's engines are not able to pull that hard stock whether it is a 96" or 103" or 110"
There is only so much power available. How can you expect lets say 75hp engine to push a 850 lb bike more than 105mph? Give me a break will ya. If you want to cruise 105mph why did you get a Ultra? They are designed for touring and comfort.
Thats why I have 3 bikes
A touring bike 42mpg
A cruiser w/105 hp and 120 tq. 34mpg
a gas saver 60mpg
