I have an 05 Electra Glide Classic. I find that on long trips the stock seat is really lacking. I'mlooking at the Corbin Dual Tour. I've had good luck with Corbin seats in the past. Any feedback is welcome.
I have a Corbin Dual Touring seat on my EG, and the wife has one on her Heritage. As far as I'm concerned, they are the best money can buy. Factory is out of the question, I tried a Mustang, and found that I liked the Corbin better.
Hey Ken - I have the same bike and the same issue plus I have the added disadvantage of being a shorter rider - 5' 7" - Bill and Mike sure put on a lot of miles so I am sure the corbin would be a great call - I prefer the look of the stock seat and may just try an Airhawk for the time being - What I really want to do is to get a cheap take off seat and have it re-done with gel material - I think that would be perfect for me - Good luck and let us know what you decide
I have had three HD since 95 and all have had Corbin - HOWEVER - I live about 90 min from the CA Corbin factory - each time I did a ride in App and had the seat built to may *** while I waited. Got their at 0800 and left that afternoon with a finished seat. I love my Corbin and would not have any other - With that said... I have heard and read Horror stories about Corbin's mail order - If you do a mail order.. keep very close track (names) of who you talked to, promises made, follow up with emails and keep the dates all written down... then if the mail order goes bad, you "may" have someting to fall back on...
I had a dual Corbin seat for the first 5000 miles and never could get it (or my butt) "broken-in". I practically gave it away - I'm now back to whatever the seat is on an Ultra and think it's OK. I have not taken a long trip on it, however. Seats are like exhaust systems, what pleases or displeases one person may be the opposite for another. It's all trial and sometimes error. Good luck.
Regardless if it is Corbin or another mfg, one thing that has worked very well for me is to get the seat customized to fit me exactly. After going thru the extra time and a little more mony spent in additional shipping cost, having a seat that fits me exactly has been money very well spend.
I have the Corbin Dual Touring on my RK. I'm not crazy about it, because it makes me sit back too far. I changed the bars which helped with the reach, but with sitting back so far it makes the seat height feel very high. So I put in a SoLow lowering kit, which helped some.
