Latest update. . . I just picked up my SG last night after a week at the shop. I plan on putting a couple of hundred miles on it this weekend to see if the problem returns. The dealer is still awaiting guidance for MoCo as what to do. The HD mechs were unable to duplicate the malfunction in the shop or on the short hops they took around town. The problem doesn’t occur until after I’ve been cruising at speed with the CC set. The mechs never duplicated the ridding conditions on their test drive route. More to follow.
Got mine fixed the A**hole at the dealership that i bought the bike from bent the stepper cable and didn';t put on a clip that should have been on there. Brought it to a differant dealership and it is fixed now. Cost me $55 for the first dealerships f**kup.

I have had the almost same problem but on an 2006 FLHXi. Still waiting for them to fix it. Going to try a differant dealership. The already replaced the brain for the cruise.
Mine once it starts to accelerate in cruise it keeps accelerating the only way to stop it is twisting the throttle backwards. Neither of thebrakes, the clutch or the on/off switch phases it.

Wow that blows the TBW problem out the window doesn't it? Since 06 didn't have TBW the guys posting about not wanting a TBW bike needs to start worrying about the throttle cable.
After picking up my SG last Friday, I put about 145 miles on it over the weekend. Used the cruise control tons with no problems. The HD Mechs didn’t change anything and didn’t re-flash the ECM. They did take apart numerous components to check everything out, installed/removed some test equipment/data logger and then put it all back together. Looks like I should install one of those little road gremlin bell to prevent this from happening again.
Reseating loose plugs and components may have been the fix.
