I agree with everyone else, Ride, relax, refresh, and enjoy. That's why we buy them. Like another poster stated, if your going to trailer, just go down, rent, and go home. I think when it's all said and done, you will look back and say "I rode my baby to MB", then once you have done that, next time, look out Sturgis!

ride it!! I have done it two times, and both were on my 03 dyna wide glide. we went in 04 and again in 07. I tell you, in 07, i bought a new mustang seat with a backrest while i was there and the trip home was that much more enjoyable. great riding from N.E. Ohio.

Cant wait to make the trip on my 08 ultra... <weg>

yeah yeah it's the journey we all know that but, consider the weather first, plus you say you haven't riden more than 300/day, and you're old dude!!!...kidding...if you think you can great, but why kill yourself...call me a "queen" but i say trailer, get there quick, get settled and ride around SC...but on the other hand, cape may ferry and chesapeke(?) bay/bridge don't sound to bad either...hmmmm

Ride it but spend one night on the way. Break it up due to not having done it before and you don't want to be the one we all have to pray for. Er on the side of caution. Go down with a one night stop and come home straight through if going down was ok. I don't mean on her!!!! Be safe................

Definitely ride! I've done 700 miles in a day with no ill effect. You've got a wind screen so you won't get beat to death by the wind, and the bike is certainly comfortable. Just break up the trip with frequent stops for gas, food, bathroom, etc. At each stop do some stretching and walking to keep the blood flowing. I think you'll regret it later if you pull a trailer.

ORIGINAL: Streetrunner

Thanks for the responses, if anyone else has done a 600 mi road trip in one or two days let me know what to expect. If I decide to ride it will be my longest ride. The furthest I have ever been (on a bike) in one day is about 225 miles.
Our norm is 450 to 500 miles a day and 600 mile days are not unheard of with us. If you are basically riding on 70 to 75 MPH blacktop it shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

By the way, I am 61 also so riding distance isn't just a young guys game, us old farts can do it too. Enjoy your ride. It's much more of an adventure when you ride instead of haul.

The ride is the reason for going not so much the destination. You will have a great sense of self fulfilment once you have done it. Relax take your time leave at day break, ride till you are ready to stop. I have often done 1000 plus mile days.If you get tired take a nap ona pic-nictable at a rest area. Dont eat heavy meals andstay hydrated. Keep something to sip on whileyou cruise. Maybe even some crackers to munch on too. Enjoy

Trailer the bike to NC. Unload it and ride in, in style.
