I like the duel look myself. Still leaning towards Rinehart's.

ORIGINAL: 04RoadKing

I had The Rinehart true duals and I liked the look's and the sound alot and the performance was great with the stock 88" TC then I add a set of S&S 510G cams and the Rineharts where still great, until I did the big bore and head job, then I lost all the low end TQ and HP. I didn't have anything until after 4000RPM it was just a flat out Dog in the low RPM. My bike had more TQ & HP in the low RPM with stock heads and 88". So I ended up going with 2-1 Thunderheader. Now TQ & HP is all in low RPM right where I like it. My RK runs like a Banshee up to 4800 RPM it's alot more fun to ride now.
With Rineharts 103TQ & 91HP, again all the power was in the higher RPM.
With 2-1 Thunderheader 104TQ & 97HP TQ & HP curve meet at 4800RPM.
Some guy's on here swear by the true dual Rineharts and say they have no low end power loss. With my set up I did, very noticeable on the Dyno and by the seat of the pants.
Just as an FYI - The newly redesigned Rinehart TD's have corrected the low/mid end issue mentioned on other forums. They re-designed the Baffles/Mufflers to improve the back pressure. They also made changes/improvement on the muffler bracket mounts.

Another added "feature" is the now have DUAL 02 ports for tuning of each cylinder with your Race Tuner.

I'm trying to find out now if the new RINEHART TD's will work on my FLHTCUI from there factory. I know they will work on on RK's and Touring Classics. But not sure about Ultra Classics. I have to assume so. But will find out for sure if anyone is interested.

Cheers all

I recently purchased a 2004 SEEG that came with Bassani "power curve" tru duals. If these pipes did not come with the bike, I would have selected the Supertrapp 2:1 megas because of their performance and great looks. Best looking 2:1 pipes on bagger out there IMHO, however, the Bassani's also offer great performance and looks. The "power curve" header pipe coming from the rear cylinder fills in the "gap" left by the stock crossover pipe as well as equalizes the lengths of both header pipes for performance. They also have a deep throaty sound under acceleration, but are relatively docile at cruising speed so you can hear your self think and listen to the stereo at the same time. Check them out, not many posts out there on them, but if I wanted tru duals again, Bassani's would be my choice.

Thunder Headers do make power, BUT they are the loudest pipe made from what I have heard. Listen to the ones you are considering before you buy. Pick the style you want first, then consider the big picture, such as future mods and if they are compatible. Next consider the noise level you are willing to tolerate around town and on trips.

hi i am a new member, i like the vance and hines pro pipe HS the best for overall looks, sound and performance.. it will yield the same impressive numbers as a thunderheader.... and stays chrome with no changing of color because of the improved heat shield ( H S)

Just another option for you consider. Caliber exhaust is made by samson. They are putting out some pretty good numbers. A huge improvement over their old ones. It's a 4 step, tuned, true dual header system. They also offer a 2 into 1 header as well. I switched from a V&H Pro Pipe to the Caliber. I havn't had it on a dyno yet, but the seat of the pants dyno, saw an increase in power.

I put the Reinharts on my ultra 2 weeks ago. I'll never look back. I love sound and looks. I'm not pure stock, SE Air Cleaner & Stage 1 Download. My biggest concern was torque and the fuel mix being too lean. Both concerns were unfounded. It runs great and will hit that redline quick! Did a plug check Tuesday, perfect! Couldn't be happier.

I have the Freedom pipes on my 05 SEEG and love them. They have a slightly different sound than the Reinharts, The baffles in these pipes are different than the Reinharts as well. My dyno numbers were 104hp and 105 tq. I have since installed the Freedoms on 3 other baggers and each have been very pleased. The people at Freedom are top notch and I would recommend them to all.
