I have an 01 Road King w/FI. It has a 95" big bore kit and a pwer commander. It has Sampson pipes now but they are an older model. My first choice are Rineharts but the new V&H seem to intrest me. I also heard a little about these Freedom pipes. Any ifo someone might have would be great!!
if you want a good sound and the best performance I would do the Thunderheader............of all the exhausts I have experience with these are the best hands down..................followed by eother the vance and hines or python 3
Is the Thunderheader pipe a true Duel system? And is there a site that I can check out? As you can tell I'm new to this stuff. I raced Motocross for 25+ years and am going HD now. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for you input but what I was looking for is some info from riders that have used these pipes and how they feel about there performance.
I had The Rinehart true duals and I liked the look's and the sound alot and the performance was great with the stock 88" TC then I add a set of S&S 510G cams and the Rineharts where still great, until I did the big bore and head job, then I lost all the low end TQ and HP. I didn't have anything until after 4000RPM it was just a flat out Dog in the low RPM. My bike had more TQ & HP in the low RPM with stock heads and 88". So I ended up going with 2-1 Thunderheader. Now TQ & HP is all in low RPM right where I like it. My RK runs like a Banshee up to 4800 RPM it's alot more fun to ride now.
With Rineharts 103TQ & 91HP, again all the power was in the higher RPM.
With 2-1 Thunderheader 104TQ & 97HP TQ & HP curve meet at 4800RPM.
Some guy's on here swear by the true dual Rineharts and say they have no low end power loss. With my set up I did, very noticeable on the Dyno and by the seat of the pants.
Thanks for all the great info! This is what I was looking for. I will keep your information in mind before I buy anything new. I bought my bike used and not sure what cams are in it. On a dyno it put out about 100 tq ans 96 hp. It actually runs really good. When I had the power comander put on they dynoed my bike for 3 or so hours and cooked my pipes. Like I said they are an older Sampson duel system. Now looking for something that looks cool and has to perform.
it is a 2 into 1, and in my opinion the best performance pipes are 2 into 1 systems, they also sell this in a black powdercoat, but if you get chrome get the heat shields.........they do not look great, but the pipe will definately blue

It looks like your numbers are up their pretty good. With your Motocross background you would love the seat of the pants TQ & HP of a good 2-1 Exhaust. Their are alot of 2-1 exhaust systems out on the market that would do the job. I like the Thunderheader, IMOP they are the top dog. The sound of a Thunderheader on a pumped up V-twin is like no other. If your stuck on the Dual look but want the performance of the 2-1, Thunderheader makes a 2-1 pipe with a false pipe on the left side, I almost went with that set up insted of just the 2-1 but with the falsey it was alittle pricey, and with all ready pissin away $700.00 on the Rineharts I was being alittle more conservative with my monney. Plus I wanted something that looked different. You don't see to many 2-1 pipes on Road Kings.
You will get alot of opinions on the subject. Good luck..........
