I was going to give up on using the saddlebag lid covers and return them, but after my wife fell asleep late last night (and a couple of shots of Jim Beam)I went out to the garage and tried to get them to fit better.
I think the key is to leave a little extra slack on theside towards the wheel at first and a lot of patience to get everything smoothed out.... I'm ok with the way they look nowand I'm sure I'll be able to stretch them a little tighter after the sun warms them up.
The bike definitely looks better without them, wish I didn't need 'em......it's sort of like wearing condoms,it would be better without 'em,but there's times when you need extra protection....
I have a set and they do need to be stretched to look decent. I really only use them if I know I will have a passenger. Other than that they are not on the bike.
WHISKEY makes everthing better in the end. Maybe HD should include those little airline bottles in everthing they sell.
That.. and butt lube..!!!
I have a set and the fairing bra on my 08 SG.. It's not bad at all.. Looks good if you doing some blacking out etc.. The one thing that pisses me off about the $110.00 Harley ones is that the fastening tabs are White.!!! (instead of black) What kind of dumb crap is that..!! Unless you get them really good and stretched out, you can see the white tabs right at the cover lip..!!
How about a link to those others with the D rings etc. Talked about on this post?? I would like to see them..
Really.. all in all my bike does not look bad with them and the ft. bra... And it's easier to get the bugs off the fairing..!!
