Anyone using these ? How did they work for you ? Any tips or tricks ?
I got a set for my '08 Roadglide and put 'em on and think they look really cheap.Basically a bunch of velcro srtrips get mounted on the inside of the saddlebag lid and the tabs on the bra attach to them. You can stretch the lid bra cover and work it close to being right but it still isn't anywhere close to really fitting "skin tight" so they don't look all that great and I'm not crazy about the idea of these ill fitting covers being on my bike at highway speeds.
Over time maybe they'd start to fit better ??? I'm also thinking that if I worked them on after they warmed up in the sun animproved form fitting installation might be possible... All that said I'd hate to get stuck with these if they're not going to work out...
Hey Mark. I put a set on mine. The first time on I couldn't get all the wrinkles out. Not even after warming them up on the "fluff cycle" in the dryer! The next time went much better. I put them back on during a sunny 73* day and they stretched a bit more and fit like they're shown in the pictures. I'm still a little concerned that the white fabric strips that fold under the bottom edge of the lid will rub and dull the finish. But I guess there's only one way to find out![:@]
Marc..I have them on mine bags. They do look better after you get them stretched and on the bags properly. It is real important to let the velcro that you attach to the inside of the lids set up for 24 hours before you attach the bra's. I also cleaned the inside of the lids with alcohol before I attached the velcro. You just have to pull and stretch them to get them to fit smoothly. I love mine. I have 3 females (wife and two daughters) who climb on the back all the time, these have saved my paint more than once.
Had them. didnt like the fit. I got the lid covers from ride tek. Waaay better. also have d rings sewn in you can use as tie down points. they dont cover the whole lid , just the necessary areas. Highly recommend them
put them on mine day one they lok fine just have to make sure you get them streched tight on a warm day I know they have saved my lids a 100 times at least. took them off awhile backwhen cleaning the bike, put a fresh coat of wax on lids they still look brand new with 15k plus mile son them
I brought mine home , placed them on the bike,
looked like crap, packed um back in the box,
took them back to the dealer. I will use the fairing bra
for my upcoming road trip, but the saddlebag covers,
I can't live with. I guess if you really work them in the
warm sunshine or a heat gun you can get them to fit,
but others on the forum have good luck installing and
making them look right on their rides.
The HD ones just don't look good on MY Ultra.
Good luck with that. Hope somebody chimes in to give
you some options.
Sounds liketrying to put them on after they warm in the sun might be the key.Wish things would warm up here in Northern Illinois so I can try and improve the fit and see what's up.
