went for a long ride yesterday and noticed every once in a while the idle would hang up at around 1800 rpm ,I have read on here that some riders have had this problem on there 07 touring models and the problem is the idle screw not being lock tighted from the factory,I am hoping this is my problem but am having a problem locating this little bugger ,doesnt seem to be any mention of it in the hd shop manual,I would appreciate if anyone has had this problem could give me a little guidance .
upon further studying of the shop manual I think I have found what I am looking for ,I knew that I had read several post on here about this problem with the 07 bikes,I called it a idle screw because that is what the rider was calling it in one of the posts I was reading, what it is a grub screw that the throttle cam stop rests against at idle page 1-25 of 2007 touring shop manual ,and yes mine is as loose as a goose,I appreciate the advice on taking it in under warranty, but I hate taking any thing in that has an intermittant problem because they will tell you there is nothing wrong, now I can take it in and tell them what to fix and know it isn't a waste of my time driving 50 miles to my dealer ,or maybe I will just fix it myself little locktite and all should be good.
they do have a problem with the idle screw, and it is set by voltage, mine came loose and rpms jumped up over 3k and wouldn't come down. took them 5 minutes to fix it at the dealer no charge

Happy to hear dealer didn't say " it's normal "
as they usually do
If the idle goes to 1800 rpms internitently, but does return to normal you do not have a problem with the screw. If the screw was the problem you idle would be higher or lower and stay there or get worse. It sounds more like a problem with the IAC (Idle Air Control) this module bleeds air from in front of the throttle plate to the rear of the throttle plate and with the help of the conputer controls the idle speed. They need cleaning from time to time and do go bad. Hope this helps.
P.S. Do you have any DTC Codes????
although it does have an idle screw, you can NOT adjust it.
Or rather should not unless you have all the tools and specs
a breakout box and a digital ohm meter.
It changes the millivolt settings in the TPS and thus causes the ECM
to reset cold and warm idle.
You maybe experiencing other problems.
Take it to the dealer.
Like others have said, if that screw moved, then it's likely your TPS and IAC are now off. I totally understand you not wanting to take the bike in, I'm anti-establishment also, but if not the dealer, take it to someone who can check and reset them for you...
