Default Front caliper 07 ultra

I thought I would consult the real experts as you guys have never led me astry yet. I want to remove my front calipers. Are those two bolts holding it on called a "torx " bolt? What do I need to remove it a Torx socket??? Anyone no what size it is? I also heard that a lot of you guys have replaced those with stainless allen bolts. What do you all think?

+1 on the 10mm 12pt for the two caliper bolts. You don't need to remove the 1/4" bolts to remove the caliper--they hold the brakepads in place--remove the two 10 mm bolts and slide the caliper off the rotor.Be careful, however, 'cause there isn't much room between the fender and the caliper as you slide it off the rotor.

When you reinstall the bolts, the longer one goes in the top; finger tighten; install shorter bolt in lower hole and torque to 28-38 ft-lbs., thendo the same for the top bolt. At least that's the info in my '04 HD SM.

Pick-up a ServiceManual for your bike--it's very, very handy.

They can be removed with any 10mm 12 point socket or box wrench. I'd use a socket and torque wrench when re installing. I wouldn't go stainless "allens" (socket head cap screws), I like the black 12 point heads.
