Default Big differences in discounted prices

This is a good example of how the online discounters are not consistant with their pricing.

Smooth King Tour-Pak® Backrest Pad 52892-98A
MSRP US $199.95
Unnamed discounter $150.00
Shipping is $ 17.33
Total $ 167.33

King Tour-Pak® Backrest Pad for Street Glide™ Styling 51634-06
MSRP US $209.95
Unnamed discounter $160.57
Shipping is $ 15.17
Total $ 175.74

Comfort Stitch Tour-Pak® Backrest Pad 52395-03
MSRP US $209.95
Unnamed discounter $176.64
Shipping is $ 16.69
Total $ 193.33

Figure out the logic there.

EDIT:

Guess I didn't make this clear. All the prices I listed above are from the same retailer. It is just a comparison of how a part that is basically the same as another with the same MSRP can have a different discounted price and shipping cost.

Why would anyone expect to find consistent pricing for three different part numbers?

I'm a little confused you have shown an example of 3 different part #'s. Why do you think the prices would be the same ???? Hello !!!![sm=WTFsgign.gif]

Maybe because the MSRP is exactly the same on two of the parts and pretty darn close to the same on the third

I remember reading that some of the online places do a straight percent off msrp and others have a cost plus pricing scheme. Could be that dealer cost is different on the two even though msrp is the same and they're using a cost plus system.

That is definitely a cost plus pricing model, assuming it is the same un-named discounter in all 3 examples.

I checked those part numbers against my favorite on-line diso****er. This is a true discount model. Although I didn't check shipping, you can see the cost plus model is a better deal on these items.

MSRP US $199.95
Unnamed discounter $169.99

MSRP US $209.95
Unnamed discounter $178.50

MSRP US $209.95
Unnamed discounter $178.50
