Road King Fairing
Looking for some input on adding a fairing to my 05 Road King Classic. I am planning on getting a Dead Center fairing in the near future, I was planning on upgrading to an Ultra but out riding last weekend decided to keep the "King" as it is paid for. So if anyone has added the deadcenter fairing, would you reccomment it, or another one on the market. I like the idea of being able to lock it to the bike. Thanks for your input. dave.
www.Firebagger.com. I haven't used them but they have been mentioned on several posting.
Running the DeadCenterCycles fairing myself. I love it. It also locks. I would recommend that you get one pre-painted your bike colors, as well as optioned out for radio/speakers/wiring and cig lighter for heated gear next year. Great investment. Solid, and provides excellant wind protection. Love it. Don't take off ever any more...
Good luck on your choice.

I ordered mine from Firebagger.com last week. They say I will have it in 2-3 weeks. I have read a lot of posts and for the price and quality you can't beat it. Hand laid fiberglass lockable fairing ready to paint with a Pioneer head unit w/ USB port and iPOD control with 6-1/2" Rockford Fosgate Punch speakers for $1,149 including shipping! Hopefully I will have mine painted and on the bike before we leave for the Blueridge Mountains in May!
A while back I ran across a fairing from an 80's FL model Harley,at a swap meet.It was one of the ones Harley made with only the outer shell.I modified the mounting brackets to make them quick attach like the stockwindshield. Then painted it to matchmy Road King. Nothing fancy, but it looks cool, and I like riding behind it. It has no raido, but that doesn't bother me as I'm deaf anyway. The really great thing about it is, I only have a couple of hunderdbucks wrapped up in it including the cost of paint.

Iam one of the few who just does not like a fairing. I thought I would but for me I found that I much preferthe Road King windshield.
You will findthe Dead Center is very high in quality and fit and like was said by RAM, get it painted from the factory. Mine is for sale https://www.hdforums.com/m_3229225/tm.htmbut it is vivid black.

All of the ones you'll read about here are good quality. Basicilly it is the design and speaker layout that seperates the customers 4-5" speakers, 2 6x9's or 2 6 1/2" and whether it locks or not. Reserch them and find the one you like. I went with a stereo ready Firebagger/Tsukayu. as it had the lock, the holes, the lack of finish and the look I was going for. It wasa budget thing and I had the winter to get it accessorized and painted. One thing to point out is that some have mounted guages in theirs. This looks cool but make sure they are able to be disconnected if you plan on going on and off route. Mine is basically a permanent fixture unless it needs to be removed for servce. It honestly goes on and off in a minute. Choose the one that is right for you and you'll love it.
