I bought one for my 99 classic, I am with you nice look but way to hard. My uncle has one and his seems decent. I am not sure what to do kills my tailbone.
Hey DamifIknow, can you post a pic? I want to change the look of my Ultra! I am riding solo now and will be changing seat, shocks, windshield and removing tourpack. I have noticed a lot of riders on this site going with the badlander. Not sure of the look. Thank's man!
It did move me back and lower from the stock, but when I had them remake the seat I had them move me back another two inches and down two inches.
The guys who made my seat did a great job, but I could have bought a custom Danny Grays for what they charged to modify it. It was my fault I didn't get a quote first I just kinda expected a price and was floored when I got it back.
Thank's for the advice to ask how much before you OK anything. I have found that many don't like to post prices. They just figure it out after the job and your stuck. Did they see your ride before they built seat? Maybe they thought you wanted the best.
Like I said it was my own fault, I left it up to them. The seat needed to be reshaped for the tank so I told them to go ahead and use good leather and why not throw some gel in there while you are at it. Then I go to talking back and forth with the guys who were going the tank for me (Bad Dad) and they suggested some cool stitching so I threw that in. Well I got the bill and oh man did I pay for all the "Yea lets do that as well".
The funny or not so funny part about it is. When I first started building my Road King it was not supposed to be a full on custom show bike so I had the seat guys build me the BadLander and I also sent them a SunDowner which they did the same thing to so I could ride two up if I wanted to and still have a cool looking seat. Well the SunDowner has never been back on the bike since I got it back together. It sure does look good sittin' in the garage though.
I also have a badlander on my 03 ultra it is hard,my wife has one on her 08 lowrider was to hard for her also but sent it to meancity cycles for narrrowing the sides more and memory foam, she loves the fell and shaping, I may send mine for the foam treatment .
