I have an 08 Ultra Classic with around 700 miles on it and the back brakes squeak like crazy. Will the squeak go away over time or is there another remedy? Thanks.
Took my '08 Ultra in for the 1000 mile service and told them about the squealing. They said they could spray something on them to stop them. Sure enough it stopped for about 500 miles and then came back again. Just a little annoying sometimes.
So we all know the Lyndall pads work very well with no noise, less dust, and a bit better performance, are we to then just sh!tcan the brand new HD OEM pads with less than 1000mi on them?
I am running the OEM pads on my 08' Street Glide with no issues at all but for the brake dust. My Deuce though is due for both sets of pads up front (I just replaced the rear set last week.....the one was down to about 1.5-2mm. My Deuce is a Screamin' Eagle so I have twin rotors up front so I will need to get two sets of pads......at this point, since I need them anyway I will try a set of the Lyndall pads. I just have to go over what the different compounds they have again before I order.
don't worry about it the brakes squeaking is included for free. feel lucky there is at least one thing Harley did not over charge you for. by the way its what the brake pad is made of that causes the squeak, as stated before change to aftermarket pads.
