I know some of you have changed them out to something different. After some riding time now, What do you like about them? I "think" I need something up and back to me a little bit. I am about 6 foot if that helps any at all. I think that somebody put bars on that were close to Heritage bars? I would like to get away with not having to change anything if at all possible with the cables.
George- I changed to the Heritage bars last week. Did about 260 miles today, much better for me- I'm 5'9". A little higher and ( 1.5") and more pullback (1.5") than the stock FLTR bars. No cable or wiring changes necessary. You will have to modify the end of the bar for your TBW on the '08.
I can now sit up straighter and have a little bend at the elbow, instead of leaning foreward with straight arms.
Check the search function and you will find all kinds of info on your options.
+1 on the Heritage Bars. If you use them order the bars for the police edition, they are designed for the new throttle wire. I am 5' 10" with 34" sleeves. I would like about 2" more back than the Heritage give. See pics.
Do you have the exact part number for these bars? This may be exactly what I need to keep from leaning forward with my arms straight. Thanks
