Default A little squeeze on the Bagger!

At the end of last riding season I added a 2lb bottle of laughing gas to my 95inch kit.

Me and some friends went for a cruise this past weekend, one on a bagger like mine (he knows I have the spray), the other on his 117" softtail (he has no clue I have the spray). We squirreled around on a few straight aways here and there and my buddy on the bagger falls back and lets me get beside the softtail. We approached one red light and I reached down and flipped the switch. I let him launch first and then I rolled out and struck it. I was trying to see him in my vibrating rear view mirror, but I was to far ahead to see him! when we got to the next light he laid back a little asking the other friend if I had replaced my 95inch kit. Next traffic light was the same result! We had him scratching his head for a while before we enlightened him.

I love what a meer couple hundred bucks can do to our bikes. Now, for the next unbagged victim!

round here we call that stuff "Racing air"

don't ya love havinga sleeper.

I used to do the same thing with my twin turbo diesel pickup (low 12 second 1/4's). I'd let all my buddies run thier mouths, race and pick off the slower guys all the while I'd lay in wait and single out the fastest one of the bunch and smoke'm. Literally!

Not too many people expect a fat bagger or diesel pickup to be fast and that just sweetens the sensation when you beat them. If it were me that Softy would still be sracthin his head because my hood dont come up for noone!

This fall I am going to be swapping the 95" jugs & heads from my Dads Ultra over to my RK.He's running a Hi-Compression set-up and I was wondering what effect Nos would have in that environment.

Any suggestions?

Oh - it does sound like you gots a fun scoot. Nice paint too.

hi compression and NOS arent a good combo with stock cases and rods. Be careful!

BS....i've run an outlaw promod for many years with 3 stages of nitrous, motors were 15 to 1 or better...i was even sponsored by Nitrous Express ...its not that hard to run it and contrary to belief if done correctly it will not eat parts......nitrous loves high comp...buy quality forged pistons and have the top ring land set at .300 from the top...this will help the rings to live if you make a mistake....for evry 100hp gain you'll need an ignition system that retards timing 3degrees....nitrous has a tuning window....too much fuel will lift the ring lands, too little will cook the piston....all commercialy available kits are tested well and very safe but follow the directions and dont be greedy....there's abit more to it than this but dont be afraid of juice, just use it wisely...the weakest link on a stock harley is the crank assembly, if youre really gonna get after it, have a good rotating assembly done with timkin bearings so part of what ToddT is tellin you is correct....buy an Edelbrock kit and put in the suggested pills and run it per instructions...no gettin greedy

Its actually a Edelbrock kit that was taken apart and installed to be "stealthy". I actually bought the kit from BadPiggy on this board. He had already done all the hard work of figuring out what should go where. I just modded it to fit my needs.

Basically, the 2lb bottle is in my left bag, the solenoids are undeer the front of the seat (the space at the back of the tank), the fuel pump is under the left side cover and the injectors are on the top of the intake! Oh, and the arming switch sits (painted all black) on the top of the horn bracket. The only thing you can see is the WOT switch on the side of the CV and a littl bit of the braided line from the bag to the inside of the fender!

As for running it on a Harley motor... dunno, my motor is one ride away from blowing up anyway. I have another post where I explained how the roller pin on the stock lifters backed out last year and ate the side of the lifter bore on the inside, and cracked the lifter bore on the outside!!! I wanted to ride, so my mechanic deburred/honed the lifter bore, installed a new cam, lifters and oil pump and I have been riding it one day at a time since. I have sprayed it several times since then (with no tune) and it has been great!

It never fails, try and blow something up, it stays together... go for a putt-putt and it blows to hell!

Now, when is the next drag-day at the track?

I couldn't help myself. The above picture was my brothers car that I used to tune. He decided to get out of it because it was getting pretty expensive. I did however tell him to go with a bottle on the next car if he gets the itch to race again. Will make life so much more simple, the blower car just took to much fooling around and had to have extra people to make it all work. A bottle car can drive to the lanes and then drive back to the pits if you have a cooling system. Pretty much can be a 1 man band if you get your ducks in a row.

I'm surpised that you haven't put a small kit on your bagger and gone out hunting Hyabusa's.
