Just filled up and got 43. THis was from a ride up to Blackhawk in COlorado with the wife on. So pretty happy with that. Must of caught a tailwind on the way down the moutain. Yahoo...
Filled up my 08 SG this morning (see my setup in sig). 151 miles on 3.8 gallons = 39.7 mpg.......not too bad. I was down around 34mpg when I installed the Fuel Moto setup from Jaimie. I leaned up the PC in the 2-3000 rpm range (where I ride most of the time) and now it seems to have came back up. Can't wait to get it on a real road trip and see if it's any better.
I have felt your pain! My 2007 Ultra never got above 39 mpg when stock. Dressed or solo didn't matter.
I did the motor work (103) and stock pipes with Supertrapp SE touring muffs - 37 mpg.
Same set up as above but did the y-pipe mod on the stock pipes, gained about 4 hp or so and got back to 38 mpg. About 92 hp.
Put the Rinehart True Duals on, re-dyno'd, DUMPED fuel to this thing and gained 12 hp and got the mileage up to 43 mpg. I still can't really explain that but I swear to God, 43 mpg, checked on 4 tanks of fuel. Highway riding, some through town and the usual on ramp racing my wife still 43 mpg. Now I will say that this is with the bike solo'd out and not loaded with any gear. My 235 lb fat a** and leathers for cargo.
Again, can't explain it, didn't expect, it but awefully happy with it.
150 miles on 4 gallons of 93 octane...Does that sound about right for for my setup?
'03 King, V&H 2-1, PC3, S/E AC @ 70-80mph, 3k-3.5k rpms, windshield and 250lbs
...just checking, thanks
I have a 99' FLHP-I, 95ci, NESS Big Sucker stage 2 air filter, and Python 3 1/2 slip-ons,with 30k, and I'm getting about 44-46 mpg on the highway, 65-70mph.
Drops a bit in town , around 35mpg.
