I've been looking at this lite but I'd like to put something on the top of the tourpack. I have the luggage rack installed and I'm not really fond of the spoiler. Is the angle of the light adjustable at all or are the mounting brackets 'fixed'?
They are fixed. I held it up to the top of my tourpak and found that it wouldn't mount correctly because the mounting ends won't flex to match up with the curve of the tourpak lid. It will only mount on a flat surface. I suppose a person could fab up some kind of black plastic spacer but that would be the only way to make it work IMO.
It is a smaller LED bar light that I put on the spoiler on my Bushtec trailer for a 3d Brake light. Really easy to install. It uses a sticky adhesive back that doesn't require any drilling. for something a bit smaller this is an option.
The plug is a 3 position plug although you only use 2 with the hoglite. One for hot and one for ground. Here are the part #s
(1 each) Tab housing, 3 position - P/N 73103-98bk
(2 each) Tab terminal, P/N 73190-96
Parts cost about $3

gman, Are you using your lite as a brake lite only or also as a running light? I'm wondering how much intensity difference there is.

The Hoglite would be too bright for use as a running light. It would look like your brakes are on all the time. This is just my opinion.
This is a good looking unit. The hoglite has ends on it for mounting which make it stand out a little from the tourpak. This is the only reason it might work better.

I agree with you about the HogLite. I'm curious about the lights from CustomDynamics.Com Some of them claim to be wired for dual intensity.
