Default Rant about Ultras running hot

Ok, let me first say that I love this forum, and I have learned a lot since I've been reading it. I must like it here, because it's really cutting into my onlineporn viewing time! Most posts are very educational, amusing, or intertesting.
Now--having said that, let me rant a minute. I really don't understand all the ranting about the Ultras running hot. YES--they run hot. THEY ARE AN AIR COOLED BIKE!
I don't understand guys going out and buying an air cooled bike and then complaining about it running too hot--it's the nature of the beast. OK-I know that the new 07/08 Ultras run hotter than their predessors. But think about it---
They have a bigger ci engine = more heat. They have a LOT of air deflecting plastic ie.. lowers, vents, etc... . Deflected air is less air to cool that bigger motor. The biggest issue is EPA specs that Harley MUST meet on their bikes, So the MoCo has to lean the air/fuelout to meet these specs.
Let look at the MoCo options -- 1) discontinue the Ultra (hope this NEVER happens), 2) water cool the Ultra (Ok-nuff said about that for you air cooled purists) 3) completely redisign the ultra for more cooling airflow (a minimal gain for a huge cost). There may be some options I have missed. If so--let's hear 'em!
There ARE some things, as I understand, that can be done to help the situation ie... oil cooler (which I agree that Harleyshould make standard equipment), synthetic oil, thigh guards installed, exhaust change, IE install, etc... . All of these things will make a little difference, which should add up to a big difference.
BUT I still believe the bottom line is if you can't stand the heat, stay outof the kitchen. BUY A GOLDWING!
Anyone thats done an INKLING of research on the new Ultras (which anyone with any sense would do before speding the amount of money these bikes cost), would find out immediatly that there is a heat issue. If you can't stand the heat--DON'T BUY ONE! Read, read, read! Learn what you're buying! Test ride one! If you don't like it after buying--sell it!Get a water cooled bike. But why would anyone read up on one, spend themoney to buy one, ride it, keep it, and bitch about it the whole time? Get over it! Ifyou like the older, smaller engine, less EPA restricted bikes better then buy one.
Yea, the newer Ultras run HOT-it's uncomfortabe. How is it the MoCo's fault? Deal with it or get rid of it.
I know everyone posts on here and shares info on this problem, and thats great! but it's the guys that get on here and all they wanna do is Bash BashBash, with nothing constructive at all to say. DUDE! Ifyou're that unhappy with it--Get ridof it!
Sorry--just my 2cents

So far I haven't found it much hotter then sitting on the oil tank of my '06 Deluxe and having he heat from the left pipe (true duals) cook me.

Don't get me wrong it is hotter but not yet enough to scream about. Have had a couple of OH My that's toasty stop light stops. Catch me in a couple of months when it's 100 + here though.
