Slip ons- Worth any power?
It's got the 103 kit with cams, but stock exhaust.
Are slip ons going to do anything for me as far as power is concerned? I am just impatient and think I can get those locally.
Is a 2-1 substantially better and worth the wait?
I will get it tuned, regardless of which exhaust I get.
Alot of the people here say that 2 into 1 is the way to go for performance.
I personally think that a Touring bike looks alot better with dual exhaust and
that is the reason I went with Rineharts true duals and I did noticed better performance even thou
that most claim you lose torque I did not noticed any loss of power but alot of gain.

This package performs up the the level of a 2-into-1 at a much lower cost, and uses the stock head pipes. You can buy the package from Fuel Moto and get a fine map included, but I don't know if Jamie has a map for the 103 and these baffles yet. Call him and ask.
It comes down to what you want a bike to do, budget and looks.
Unless you want an all out kick *** racin' Harley, the performance difference in power can sometimes be very little. I know I'm going to catch some **** for that but come on, let's keepit real here. We buy all hot stuff because we WANT it not NEED it. SO if it's what you want and you're willing to put up with the side effects, buy it all.
The truth is closer stock than most will admit. 2 into 1 exhausts will usually provide the most power on bikes with the motor to drive it. But on all but the biggest motors, the difference over a good true dual is actually small. Maybe 3 - 7 hp and about the same in torque. It takes at least a 5 hp or 7 lb. to make it truly noticeable to an objective rider. And don't get me started on dyno charts that can prove otherwise. If 2 into 1 is what ya think works best and you like the looks, buy a Thunderheader and blast away.
SLipons on a stock system when properly done will get very good power and will be more balanced over a broad rpm range. There are several good ones to choose from. Grind out the obstruction in the y-pipe, get a good flowing air cleaner, buy whatever slipons you like the looks and sound of, and invest in a good tuner like a SERT. Have that dyno tuned and ride on my friend.
I can show you dyno charts that will show a modified stock system with V&H slipons will perform at least as good as Rineharts or V&H true duals.
With power ... when is enough, enough - how much is it worth to you - and what difference does it make?
Now, rough me up guys. LOL But ya know it's true. LOL
