I have been reading this board and the Goldwing boards for several months now trying to decide between the Ultra and the Goldwing. As has often been said here "Ride them both and then decide", well thanks to friends with each one I have been able to do just that. I'm definitely looking for an Ultra.
I've talked to a couple of nearby dealers who seem to be left back in the early 90's with their premium pricing only difference is their showrooms are full of bikes. I would appreciate anyone who has recently purchased an Ultra if they would feel comfortable sharing with me what they paid for their bikes. I'm in Georgia with a 7% sales tax but would like prices after all dealer add ons before tax. Hopefully this information will give me an idea how hard nosed to negotiate and when I've reached a "good" Harley price.
A friend of mine just bought an '08 Ultra w/ABS there was no dealing it was MSRP. They did "give" him the $750.00 dealer prep because of the open house.
I have had mine for a week now
Here in FLA we have HD dealers all over the place
I went to a bunch of them, went all over for over a month
Some would discount the bike, but then add on ALL the fees
Another dealer would MSRP the bike and cross off all the fees
So two dealers would have a different price for the bike, but the bottom line came out the same
You need to have a bottom linenumber in your head before heading into the dealer
I love this question. I bought my 08 anniversary ultra for 24k even out the door at Atlanta harley davidson. I went to see them at At. HD and then found the lowest price for the ANN. ed,. and thr regular ultra within 250 miles. Then I called the salesmen I met there and told him what prices I found and said I will buy if he meets it. That would have put a regular stock ultra at about $21.5k tax and title. I have nego. 2 bike deals by phone and it seems to work better, Sales are down and they more willing to deal to get bikes off the floor.
WinstonChopper -Those prices sound good compared to what I got. What features was on the stock bike you referred to? Also what options are on your Anniv Edition. I'm surprised that you are not out riding this afternoon.
Confused- I do not have a trade, my daughter wants to ride my old Honda VTX 1300. Are the Fla prices similar to those stated by Winston Chopper?
