Default good time...

wife & I rode down from central CA- about 500 miles one-way--- met my buddy from Reno there - took a lot of side trips, but best one was at Topock marina---- got there just in time to see the local version of 'girls gone wild'---had a blast---

lots of bikes--- only negative--- some asswipe stole his brand new screaming eagle plug wires---

I left on Friday night and arrived on Saturday at about 3:00 A.M. after about 340 miles of riding through the desert and walked right in to the Edgewater Hotel and got a room for a lot less than I have been paying over the last few years. The attendance was definitely down this year compared to a few years ago, but, to me, that is a good thing. The weather was the best that I can remember in many, many years of going. The winds were brutal both coming and going on the ride in to Laughlin and out to Redondo Beach, but in and around town it was very, very nice. The Harley Demo rides were not available this year for the first time since they started doing them years ago and the HOG Pin Stop was not offered this year either. I do not go to Laughlin just for these two things alone but it is a nice little “extra” when they are provided by the company. The free bike giveaway contest prize this year was a XL883. Not to knock it, but man, I remember years when there was a free bike giveaway from at least three different hotels in town and one year when the Riverside had a Dodge truck, a trailer and a Harley Big Twin all as the grand prize. Things have really changed a lot lately in the last few years. I look forward to next years run to see if there is any improvement, but this event may have just moved pasted its heyday. The countdown begins again!
