I would like to know how many members renew each year. Let's just say 100,000 at $45 each which comes to $4,500,000. They probably don't have enough money left over after paying those experts that put out their magazines to tell us where and how to ride. Like they say go ride and if you need a tow we are here for you, BS. All those pictures and stories about wide open roads, seems like it's all about money and no service.

There are 1.1 million current paid up HOG members. That is $45 million $$$$. I have used HOG towing assistance three times over the years with great success. Longest wait was 4 hours once in the middle of nowhere UTAH. Have several buddies who have used it also. Have not heard any complaints from them either.

I sure hope you're right, Me and the bride are riding to Colorado, Utah, Wyoming this year and it would go a long way knowing you have an option if you need it.
What you need to remember is, the tow trucks are not owned by HOG. They are subcontracted out based on whatever info they have and until there is a complaint, the same towing companies get the call.
I've used the HOG roadside assistance twice. Got bad service once, good service once. The difference was the towing company that got the call based on where I was at the time and not the phone number I called for service.
The one instance where I had bad service, I complained. I received a follow-up call from HOG the same day and two calls the next day. One, before HOG sent a representative to visit the towing company and another afterwards to tell me that HOG would be switching to a different contractor for that service area based on my experience.
So I'm not too dissatisfied myself. It is an inconvienence to get stuck on the side of the road. But there are probably many reasons why HOG can't have a flatbed to you within minutes of your call.
Pay the extra 19.95 and get the deluxe plan if you are keeping roadside and traveling. My bud broke down 175 miles from the closest dealer and hog kicked in the $100 but the tow was $350, if you have the deluxe it's $0
have used it twice once last year, once just 3 days ago, lucky me ,good results both times,3day s ago coming from memphis tenn.to houston tx,had trouble in alexandria lousianna[ sp]waited one hour, got toad,an renagade hd,took me right in and fixed the problem,I figure it's more were u are at and yes complain ing to right people may help.but also good to gack up,or the deluxe deal.
I have full membership and this is my towing coverage:
.O.G. Roadside Assistance Program
Full and full life members are automatically enrolled in the Standard Package of the H.O.G. Roadside Assistance Program. This package reimburses members (up to US $100, one use per year) for towing services. Greater coverage with fewer restrictions is offered through the Deluxe, Ultra, and Ultra Plus Packages, available at an extra cost. For details, visit H.O.G. Roadside Assistance Program.
Last year I broke down coming out of Roanoke and they supplied the tow truck and the first $100.
Fortunatly, my insurance, Foremost, covered everything else and reinbrused me for the rest of the tow bill
I used mine for the first time this weekend on my wifes cager..She has a broken fuel gage and we ran out of gas on the freeway in the middle of dallas...They had me up and running in an hour. I have the max plan covers all my vehicles with no additional towing costs for unlimited use and milage; and maybe because I was in the big city.
+1 on AAA RV PLUS, knock on wood, never used AAA for my bike yet, but when I have used it for my cars I got top notch service, response and follow up!
