I was real proud of my 46mpg on stock EGlide until I compared my bike odometer to the GPS odometer on a 600 mile trip. My bike odometerand speedometer is 3.1% high.
Running a stage one download, screaming eagle air cleaner, and stock 'modified' pipes, we can get 50+ mpg at 55 mph. As soon as we go over 60, we can rapidly lose mpg. We usually average 40-42.

Wait until it is good and broke in. I'm getting mid 40s out of my 07 and the 08s have improvements over the 07s to help with fuel economy. My mileage didn't climb to the mid-forty's until after about 5k miles.

I agree. My 08R Glide just broke 5500 mi and on a long trip at cruising speeds my last 2 or 3 tanks were over 50 mpg.
