I bought a stock 05 EGlide a couple of months ago and immediately replaced the stock exhaust with WildPigs. Ihave put just over 2000 miles on her here in Florida with lots of 90 degree weather. According to my manual, the ECM has a three stage heat management system with the first stage being a drop in idle RPM when the head temperature reaches 320 degrees.
Apparantly my head temperature has never reached 320 degrees because I have never detected a drop in idle RPM.
I am very pleased with the sound and fuel economy and can accept the engine power.
Given the above information, why would I want to do a stage 1 filter and download?
If I did the stage 1, what drop in mpg can I expect?
Thanks in advance for all the input I am sure to get.
You'll pick up probaly 7 HP, bike will run cooler and you shouldn't
see much change in fuel milage, providing you get a good download
or tune. Best money I've spent on my 06 RK. Good luck.
