Anyone having these problems and any suggestions. I took my 2008 Street Glide into the Harley dealership to have Reinharts slip ons and Stage 1 upgrade, to include four hours of Dyno time. Upon picking up my bike a week later I was told that they had to order me new pipes due to when they dynoed it they had it running too hot and blued the pipes. I took the bike home approximately 10 miles and then me and my lady went for a short ride when the bike started popping and backfiring and then stalled out several times made it back to the house after pushing it six blocks, man was I fit to be tied. The next day called Harley to come pick up the bike for which they did, now they have had it for two weeks and now after them trying two different Power Commanders I am told that the Power Commander will not work with my bike that they are going to install the new SE Super Tunner this was to be done on Tuesday they said that it was going back on the rack and that this should fix all the problems, as on today I have not heard from them, as you know I will have to pay the difference in cost, I said the there Forman of there Tech. haven't you ever installed the Power Commander on a 2008 Street Glide and he said no that I was the first, I wish I would have been told this for I would not have had it done, it is my understanding that the Thunder Max will not work yet with the Street Glide, any suggestions, thanks in advance.
I put a PCIII on my 08 SG and have 1,300 miles on it and it's fine. Runs like a dream. Did you purchase the PCIII from them or did you purchase it and take to them to install? I would have them put the bike back to stock, call Jamie at Fuel Moto and have him send you a PCIII mapped precisely for your bike. PCIII does have units for the 08's. They've been available since January, I think. I checked around on the internet and locally, and he had the best price around. I purchased mine in Jan or Feb. And find a new shop to take your bike to!! Sounds like they don't have their chit together.
Get it back to stock and get the PC III, Big Sucker and Custon Slip On's from Fuel Moto..Jamie has a custom map for the PC III for 08 Touring models that is sweet and can be fine tuned if needed. Will cool down the motor big time too.
