I'd like to thank everyone in the Touring section for thoughtful and insightful responses to questions as I am very new. I get nothing but nastiness and sarcasm at the General Chat area. Not sure what is up with that, but this is a nicer place to post.
Give it time. You can get flamed here also. Before you ask a question, make sure you have searched through here before doing so. If you ask something that has been continuosly posted, you will get slammed.
Also, get the service manual if you don't already have one. That can save you time, money and aggrevation here.
I got the same advice on my first post... If you want to save money, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, it's well worth the money to buy a service manual

Don't worry about it. There is always going to be someone that will post dumb remarks. Just ask away. Those trolls don't scare me. If I spend $20,000 on a bike I am going to ask a bunch of questions and some might be dumb. Who cares. That is what this message board is all about. What kind of ride do you have anyway?
