This may be a dumb question, but I don't have a tour pack yet so I don't know. Why would a tour pack affect the drivers backrest, or am I just reading these post wrong?

Jeff
The driver backrest affects the passengers sitting room, big time. So by moving the tour pack back 1 1/2 inches it get some valuable space back for them.

I just put mine on last nite at work. I will say when I mounted it, it was in the 2 1/2" position. My co-worker (6' 3" @ 260#) hopped onand had MORE than enough room between the driver's backrest (adjustable)and tour pak....so I moved it to the 1 1/4" position. It's easy enough to adjust.

Hopefully, I'll know more about it come Monday....if the weather holds up.

Anyone have before and after pics of the install?
Better yet, how about some pics of the install.
I am looking to order this in the very near future.
Rob.

Do a search for George Anderson, cant remember who has the pics but you will find them. This guy is great, I just got off the phone with George and he shipping my kit today and he just asks for me to send him a check in the next couple of days.

A way of doing business that you just don't see anymore.

I've got my George Anderson kit set for the furtherest back position, but the tourpak itself is in the forward position (based on the bolt holes in the bottom of the tourpak)....haven't been able to get the OL out for a ride yet as its been too cold for her (she doesn't like having to get all bundled up in layers and feel like the michilin man and then try cliimbing on the bike). I'm hoping to have space to satisfy her needs while still allowing me the use of my adjustable backrest. Now if the weather would just get out of winter mode.[:@]

I have thought about that also. So with those setting do you end up with about 2 inches?

The tourpak is in the position it was when I took delivery, so as far as the wife and I are concerned we will have 2 and a half inches more room than we had before. If I moved the tourpak to the rear most position with the other set of bolt holes in the pak it would give another inch and a quarter, but I would rather not go that far back as that would total 3 3/4 inches movement and I think that would be a bit too far. I don't know who sets the position of the tourpak when a bike is sold....if the dealership mounts it or is done at the factory?? It seems that some come mounted in the forward spot while others are in the rear spot. Anyway, I'm hoping Sunday will be nice enough to get the wife out for a ride to see how we fit.

I just drilled a new set of holes as far back as I could get on the luggage rack. Worked like a charm and gave me just enough room for
a passenger or my Kuryakyn bag.

Buy 1 inch square AL. tubing, polish, drill holes where you want to the tour pack to set, drill hole for rack mount on bike, buy plastic black square caps, it looks like OEM for 1/10 the price.

I just installed GA's kit this week but its been sitting in my garage all winter.... I like the kit - YES you get an additional 2".. but that 2" ended up costing me a few more bucks...... my wife is 5'0... she could use the stock floorboards b4 the install.... w/ 2" more to compensate for my bent riders backrest.... I had to order the passenger kit relocation kit ($100), a set of low profile saddlebag guards (around $150).... I am still waiting on my delivery from Chicago Harley for the 2 items -- so we will see in a few days

all in all I like the kit.... and after I bent my riders backrest w/ a torch it was much needed eventhough my MRS is petite

the install was relatively easy although the directions are written in 1 big paragraph.... if you use common sense it an easy install.... nice product, good guy

servey says..... BUY IT
