Default Relocating Tour Pack

I know there have been many discussions about George Andersons kit to push the tour pack back. I want to do this for my upcoming road trip because the BOSS is riding with me this year and I dont want to go without my backrest.

Has anybody had any handling problems doing this mod. Wife is not real big but I will be running with a big bag on the rack also.

if you don't install the Tour Pak relocator you can use your OL for a backrest

I have mine back the full 2 1/2 inches with the GA kit. I haven't noticed a big change in handling riding 2 up. We have not loaded the bike down yet however. When we do, I'll add pressure to the rear shocks to compensate. I'm sure that all that weight farther back on the bike will make a difference. I couldn't use my backrest with the TP mounted where it was. It is a compromise between comfort and handling. I doubt that the handling issues if any will be a safety issue since I ride safe and sane when I'm loaded down.

many fully loaded miles 2 up with georges kit set all the way back. no noticable difference in handling.

How about the "Bosses" legs or knees after moving the TP back does the back of her legshit against the front bag guard??

Ride well,

Jim

I have wondered about that also. I can get around that I think. Her floor boards all all the way down now, so I could move them up. And I have the Kury adjustable pegs on it for her also.

This may be a dumb question, but I don't have a tour pack yet so I don't know. Why would a tour pack affect the drivers backrest, or am I just reading these post wrong?

Moving the tour pack back will just give the passenger a little more room if the rider is using the backrest. Rider backrest with a healthy passenger will get a little cramped in the backseat. :-)
