State Farm has been cheapest ive seen. You will need bill of sale, nivis and your lisence. Have you had your motorcycle lisence for more than a year? If not a lot of companys will triple the cost of your insurance.
+1 on Darrens comment above. NVIS comes with the bike when sold new and is required in order to get it registered. Before registering you'll also need insurance pink slip and the best place if you are a new rider is with State Farm or Home for Chrome Toll Free @ (866) 472-0721
You'll also need a Class 6 license and should know how to ride a bike. If not, you'll also need a trailer.
Probably should have put more infor. Sorry about that. I have had license for over 20 years but I have not gome throug hthe process of buing for several years. I am picking the bike up at Kanes is there anything I can do ahead of time? It sounds like I can get insurance before. What information to they need for me to get insurance ahead of time and wehre in inglewood is there a registry? Thanks
Kanes should be able to fax the necessary paperwork to your insurance comapany who will then fax them a pink card, take the pink card to the registries office and get your plate. Then should be able to hop on it and smile ear to ear for the next several months or years!!
Your insurance company will want a bill of sale which has serial numbers and purchase details. Then they will issue you a pink card. Next you will need he NVIS card from the dealer before you head to a registry. With Bill of Sale, NVIS Card, and Pink Slip in hand, you can then go to any registry to register the bike. They then give you a plate and you're rocking. Call Howard or your sales rep, they can tell you where the nearest registry is.
The folks at Heritage in Edmonton where fantastic. Khris gaveme the NVIS form and the bill of sale on a Thursday evening, and on Saturday I went and got plates and road her home. See if Kanes will give you the 2 day advantage.

That's exactly how Kanes handled my bike purchase in January (Road King Classic). I live in Okotoks and the roads were a little shiny so they eventrailered it to my house the very next day. I would have been happy with delivery in 4 or 5 days.
It too easy to buy a bike - didn't even feel the money leaving my pocket.
