Default Rain Pants

Looked thru the rain gear posts and didn't see what I was looking for. Need to purchase some new rain gear. After riding the old superglide and always melting the leg on the pipeI gave up buying pants. Now thatI ride an Ultra need to purchase some new gear. What are all of youusing for pants and how are you keeping from melting them on the exhaust? Does anybody make pants that might have a heat shield on the inside leg to prevent getting them melted. Thanks.
Michael

HD GoreTex for me. Expensive, worth every penny. Mine are eight years old, very, very used and look like it, still keep me perfectly dry .........

I use First Gear overpants. They are a textile overpant with a removable quilted liner and are 100% waterproof. They have a heat resistant material from the knee to the ankle. These are a great one pants does all riding pants.

I use FirstGear HT2 overpants.
Great for cold weather, rain, riding in less than jeans, etc...
They have a removable liner and armor.

Oh, and the zipper lines up with my FXRG jacket, so as long as I keep the leather conditioned, I am waterproof with no 'butt trickle'

Dude, the only time you'll get wet legs riding an Ultra is when you get off the bike; the fairing and fairing lowers will keep you very dry when you're moving.

I have HD Gore-Tex pants that are a couple of years old and they work great as others have said. On trips, I put them on when there is a likelihood of rain--very comfortable and don't get hot wearing them, even if it doesn't rain.

Mine are NOT the HD Gore-Tex Pac-Lite product they now sell, so I don't have a comment on them.

i bought the hd high viz rain suit. they have heat shields on the bottom of the pants. i know its alot of orange but in rainy conditions visibility gets deminished so I personally bought this set for that reason. heres a link http://www.harley-davidson.com/mcm/m...bmLocale=en_US

+2 on the FirstGear Overpants - excellent quality, waterproof but breathable, CE armor, quilted removeable liner. And pricey....

I use tourmaster textile overpants, work great, no too pricey and have armor. I've also used Tourmaster rain pants with nomex on the legs to prevent melting. Whatever brand you get, the key is to have the nomex patches on the legs.
